hi all, i plan on mounting a 32in lcd to the wall but ran into some problems with trying to mount the cable box.
i am unable to find anything on the market that would allow me to mount the box to the wall (vertically, not sticking out). if there's nothing, i might just put a rope around the box and hang it like a picture frame. however, i assume there might be other creative ways to handle this. any suggestions are much welcomed. thanks

How handy are you?
And if you are going to hang it vertically make sure your remote control works!

not handy at all.
but i guess i should be able to manage handle hanging something onto a wall. yes, i anticipate a little inconvenience with the remote but if i don't change channels every few minutes, i should be ok.
I'm kind of curious as to what arrangement would necessitate hanging a cable box on the wall with the LCD.
It would drive me nuts if I couldn't change the channels from the chair (that's why God invented remotes), but whatever.
Whatever you rig up, make sure it's secure. You don't want to have the box fall off and end up paying hundreds of dollars to replace it.

hm..have you thought about putting the cable box in a nearby closet or something and using an IR extender to change channels? It sounds like your trying to minimize/hide the cable box if possible. Wouldn't be that expensive, and I'd go for that before going with your rope idea. ;)
