I am trying to add a computer to my home theater for gaming, etc. I am having trouble getting the highest resolution the AE2000 supports to work over VGA. HDMI from my DVD and cable box works fine at 1080P, but I can't get VGA from my computer to work. My laptop doesn't have HDMI, so I can't test that combination.
The problem is that the computer thinks it is doing 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz, but the projector is in "WIDE720" mode which is 1280 720. The picture is visible, but it is only showing half the desktop at once. You can move the mouse around to see other parts of the desktop.
The laptop driving it is a fairly new Lenovo Thinkpad W500 that has an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 graphics chip.
I haven't found a way to set the laptop up to do interlaced vs. non-interlaced, so if anyone knows how to do that I could try 1080i.
Any ideas if this should work, and if so what I might need to do?
Thanks,
Guy
