I'm utilizing the new high resolution audio formats through the DVD-Audio inputs on my B&K Reference 50 processor. Because I'm losing bass management and it is passed through, I decided to by an Outlaw ICBM bass management controller. I was told to put this in line between the pre amp outputs and the amplifier inputs.
My question is: Can I place this from the DVD-A outputs in line to the DVD-A inputs of my B&K preamp? The reason I would want this is so I can utilize the internal bass management of the preamp for my Xbox, DirecTv, etc. The bass management in my processor has adjustable slopes and curves and speaker distance settings that I'd like to keep using if possible. So any reason I can't go from Blu-ray DVD-A outputs ->Preamp DVD-A inputs?
Thanks,
Ryan:confused:

Not sure what you mean by DVD-A inputs. I think you mean the multichannel analog inputs. Yes, I think you can put it in-line between your player and pre-amp.
Where did you get an ICBM, btw?
I would guess he's referring to the multichannel analog outs. There are several ICBMs listed on AudiogoN.

I guess, sure. But my manufacture calls it DVD-A inputs but it's all the same thing. Here's a picture of the back http://www.unitedhomeproducts.com/67520580.jpg
I picked up the ICBM on eBay, all the ones on audiogon were sold.
Thanks for the info. Ryan

Yes you can. I have basically the same setup (BluRay player --> Outlaw ICBM --> B&K Ref50) connected via the B&K DVD-A inputs and it works extremely well.
