Im getting a pair of new subs in a few days and i have been searching all over for an answer but cant find any..what i need to know is could one kicker 08zx10001 (3000 watt peak) 1000W X 1rms push TWO 12 inch jl audio w7s? the jls say 1000 watt RMS and its max is 2000 but i figured 3000 watt peak so ill push 1500watts max to each amp...if this is totally wrong give me break just say no way and help with another idea..thanks

yes mr. kong. will work fine. keep in mind impedance may matter here depeding on how you wire them.

ok well once again im gonna sound stupid but what does impedance mean and how should i wire it to make it right...sorry i dont know anything about this.

the resistance inductance capacitance all roll up into impedance. Without knowing the specs, you know how an amp can push 1000w into 4 ohm, and maybe 500w into 8 ohm, or maybe 2000w mono 2 ohm. you can be in series, parrallel, stereo, mono. Not that I know much about subs that are not self powered...just make sure you talk to someome in the know, when you purchase to make sure your amp lines up with the speaker for the way you will be running it...wiring it.

Um... I don't think so....

Not sure if anyone checked the specs on these subs, but nominal impedance is 3 ohms. Wired in parallel, 1.5 ohms is out of spec for the amp, and wired in series, 6 ohms likely won't allow the amp to push enough power to really drive these speakers the way they were meant to be driven.

is there any one amp that can push 2 jl audio w7s 12 inches correctly?

Try MB Quart or PPI. I know Quart has a 2000 x 1 into 1 ohm amp in their Discus series -- it should do the business...
