Hey,
I just connected my new mac mini to my Vizio VX37L (native res/: 1366x768) and want to change the resolution from my mac to that. It's not in the list of resolutions displayed. I tried downloading both DisplayconfigX and SwitchresX but that went nowhere, I'm not sure if I'm using them correctly or they just aren't what's needed here. The mini is connected via the mini DVI to a DVi-HDMI cable. Any idea? Thanks!

What display res options does the mini give you? I've had several Macs hooked up to a VX32L over VGA and all could do 1360 x 768 without any tweaking, so I didn't bother trying to force 1366 x 768. Maybe consider using the mini-DVI to VGA adaptor if all else fails.
Make sure you also try connecting into a different HDMI input and rebooting.

Unofrtunately, that's not surprising.

I'm running into the exact same issue. I have a VX37L and I'm running a mini with it. I've tried using the VGA in but the picture is definitely not as good as via the DVI/HDMI connection. So I am still trying to find a solution. Here is what I've found so far:
DVI/HDMI - I've tried both HDMI ports and no matter what I set the Mini resolution at I'm still getting black boarders all around the screen. I've tried installing SwitchResX and creating a custom 1366x768 resolution but the borders still persist.
VGA - I've tried going DVI to VGA but the picture quality is bad. It's darker and not as crisp.
PC - I've run a Dell Studio Hybrid via HDMI hooked up to the same TV and the connection was seamless, so I know it's not the TV.
I've been searching the web trying to find a functional solution for this problem, it surprises me that it even exists. Any comments would be great.

I've found these settings work for my VX37L running on a DVI->HDMI cable or HDMI->HDMI (depending on how you're connecting your box)
Pixel Clock - 85.25
Horizontal:
Active - 1360 pixels
Front Porch - 128 pixels
Sync Width - 130 pixels
Back Porch - 174 pixels
Scan Rate - 47.573 kHz
Vertical:
Active - 768 lines
Front Porch - 2 lines
Sync Width - 6 lines
Back Porch - 19 lines
Scan Rate - 59.84 kHz
Positive sync checked for Horizontal.
Positive sync unchecked for Vertical.
I got these from a website called clunkclunk dot com but since I'm a noob to this forum, I can't post the exact link to the site. If you Google "clunkclunk" + VX37L you should find it. The one thing is, you'll need to pick 1360x768 or 1368x768 - 1366x768 won't work because it's not a multiple of 8. I personally chose 1368x768 because if I choose 1360x768, I have a small line down the right side of my screen that looks like a "mirror" of sorts. I'm guessing that's the missing 6 pixels? I'd rather be 2 pixels over than missing 6 pixels. Your mileage may vary tho! Good luck!

I appreciate you posting this here. I had found those settings elsewhere, and when I saw them again, here, I thought, what the heck, let's try it. Brilliant! I still have a small dark line on both the right and left sides of the screen, but it's nearly invisible, and the settings themselves create a wonderful looking display of the desktop. Very
My hardware:
mini 2.53 GHz/4/320
mini displayport to hdmi (purchased from FireFold (http://www.firefold.com/), which got several cables to me the day after I ordered for something like $5. Nice enough to deserve a mention!)
Vizio VX37L10A (the Costco product)
Thought I'd post for the next person who comes along. :)
