I'm in the planning stages of a 5.1 setup in a small room (approx 12X14ft) to be used almost exclusively for home theater. SVS recommended front stage sub placement and I notice on the HSU website they often suggest nearfield placement at the rear of the room. Is there any reason that an HSU sub would be better for nearfield placement behind the listening position? Due to the small size and layout of the room, I have more room and placement options at the rear of the room compared to the front so I would prefer rear placement if possible. SVS suggested the PB-12 NSD for my room. Is there any reason that the HSU VTF-2MK3 or VTF-3MK3 would be better for placement behind the listening position? Also, any other advice on choosing a sub for a small room like mine would be appreciated. I don't need the loudest of subs, but I would like a sub with low bass extension that we can "feel". My main concern with rear sub placement is being able to localize the sub. (I plan on adding the sub to deftech mythos speakers with manufacturer recommended crossover of 80hz).
Thanks.
Thanks.
