So I just purchased a Vizio VO47L FHDTV and a PS3 mainly for the Blu-Ray capability and some exclusive games. Anyway, I have the PS3 connected via HDMI to the HDMI2 PORT on the Vizio directly. I have the Vizio running on the default mode (Wide) on that input but it and I setup the PS3 to run on 1080P. However, when I put the Ironman Blu-Ray movie in I'm getting Widescreen letterbox....Why is this? All of my friends who I talked to who have older LCD HDTV's than me don't have this problem. What setting am I missing? This is bothersome because I really want to watch Blu-Ray movies in FULL HDTV (corner to corner). Anyone with knowledge in this area would be greatly appreciated. I want to figure this out before I invest more money into my new entertainment system.

thanks for the help.

It appears that Ironman is presented at a 2.35:1 aspect ratio. This should be indicated on the disc or case.

Since 16:9 is equivalent to 1.78:1, black bars will be present when viewing that movie. Bottom line, if Vizio "Wide" represents "FULL" hd mode, you are watching it correctly.

BTW, page 56 of the user's manual has a comment about this exact case.
