I just got my Onkyo SR806 (Overkill for my 10x12 room, but future proofing my setup)...
I originally purchased the Klipsch Quintet III System (4 satellites and a center channel) with the intention of moving the front satellites to the surround back position when I decided on a nice pair of fronts.
I used the Klipsch for a few days and realized that they will not be good enough for me. They sound very "tin can" sounding for me.
I went out and picked up a Polk CS10 Center Channel, and WOW, night and day difference. (As it should be with a wider range and bigger speakers)
Now I am on the hunt for 4 good satellites, or 2 satellites and 2 fronts.
I wouldn't mind to keep the system all Polk (or even returning the Polk Center, and getting a setup that is all the same brand).
I am looking to spend about $100 per speaker if they are all satellites. But a retail chain here had the Polk TSi300 for $67 each, but they were only in Cherry, and I want them black. That was tempting.
Any ideas for about $400 for 4 speakers that don't sound like a tin can?
Thanks!
