I've been doing my fair share of research for HD camcorders and I was wondering if the ones that shoot in 1920 x 1080 are 1080p or 1080i. Or is it just based on the TV and not the camcorder.

Don't rule out the Sony and Canon 1080i cameras until you have seen them. florida61 03-05-09, 09:24 PM I'm considering the Sony SR11, any opinions on it? Missions 03-05-09, 11:50 PM I've got the SR12 and it's an excellent camcorder. Crisp image and sound -- especially when you purchase some of its accessories (i.e. bluetooth mic). I'm not aware of any consumer level camcorder that now offers 60 progressive frames per second (60p). There are screens that have a refresh rate of 60MHz (60p) or 120MHz (120p). The DVD/BR player and/or screen will cope with matching up the recorded information and its display. This is a complex question. I have a Sony SR11 and I agree with Missions that it generates files that display perfectly without jitter or edges on my 1920x1080 60MHz screen. In addition, I find the colours accurate too. IMHO, the AVCHD Canons offer similar PQ. |
