1. Your budget: $350 - $600 (My basis on this I have access to a new Sunfire HRS -10 for $580)

2. Size requirements/limits: 15 3/8 wide x 23 3/4 high x 17 1/2 deep. This sub has a specific place in my wood entertainment center. It has a bottom left spot that has wood on all sides except front and rear. The back of the sub will be about 6 inches from the wall behind the TV. The sub is under the left side of my TV. I assume front firing would be best?

3. Room dimensions: 10' high x 15' deep x 20' wide. 7 year old 80% brick home. I sit 12' back from the TV/sub.

4. Primary uses: 90% Movies and TV, 10% Music. The rest of my gear is or will be:
TV - Samsung 67" DLP
AVR - Denon 1909
Blu-ray - Panasonic
Front 3 - Aperion 5T's and a 5C
Rear - Triad Gold Omni Plus- In wall

5. Listening habits: Not really loud. I would say Movie theater levels at maximum.

6. Appearance requirements: Piano Black is first choice to match the Aperions, this is not a must. Any black will be fine, because every thing except the front and top will be basically hidden.

7. Time frame: Within a month.

Thanks for any opinions and/or advice.

I recommend that you grab the Sunfire ASAP.

I have the original model True Subwoofer and I love it.

Placing a sub in a small enclosed space is the WORST possible position for it.

Placing a sub in a small enclosed space is the WORST possible position for it.
I completely understand, but I am trying to keep the space looking a certain way and it also keeps the Wife happy.

I thought since I would most likely go with a front firing sub it would be fine in a space like this? I also thought since it was back loaded against the wall by about 6 inches it would be fine?

On the left side of the sub even though it has a 1/2" cabinet wall the outside of that wall is completely open space, basically it is on the bottom left shelf of my TV wooden TV stand.

Maybe the smaller the Sub the better since it will have more space between the sub and the TV stand walls around it?

It also sounds like the Aurelex subdude would be helpful in my situation? maybe?

Thanks

It looks like at this point I will go with the Sunfire HRS-10 or HRS-12. I have access to the HRS-12 for $640 total. From the hours of reading this forum, It sounds like that will be hard to beat for the money. It is 13.5" cube so it will fit in my space easily.

I haven't bought it yet, so I am still open to opinions and suggestions.

Thanks

Slightly above your budget but a very nice sub is SVS SB12-Plus (http://www.svsound.com/products-sub-box-sb12plus.cfm). It measures 14" x 14" x 15". I have one and really love it.

BTW, there is no approve format for specifics. But it's always nice to provide lot's of useful info so more people can help.

Just moving up to get anymore thoughts. I see that SVS has the black Vinyl open box sub for $599. I will try to post some picture of the sub placement tonight so you guys can see the space.

Thanks
