NO! Not another hum thread! Maybe my issue is different.
The problem - when the new Onkyo sends video signal to the new TV, I get a hum and static sounds from TV (NOT from the surround sound speakers & sub). It starts quiet gets louder after a few minutes. Adjusting the volume on either device has no effect.
I tried 3 different HDMI cables - no change.
Connected Blu Ray player directly into the TV (same HDMI port) and it does not hum, so it is not the TV.
Tried connecting Onkyo to every HDMI input on the TV, and I get the hum. So it is not the HDMI port.
The only other device connected is an XBOX. Turning it on or off has no effect, so it's not interference from the Xbox.
Moved my cables all over the place and the hum did not change at all, so I don't think it's that.
I think my Onkyo is defective.
What do you think? This is all new to me, so I may be missing something obvious. Could it be the TV?
Thanks
