Heh, i know it... there is bass enough in every channel to destroy most of systems.

We should all run our speakers on Large and crank this up to reference.

Who's willing to go first?:p

Nah. . .the goal is that we want our speakers to work and work they shall. We should all run our speakers on "large" with subwoofer set to "none" and then crank it up to reference. ;)

I need to run this scene again since I have not done so with the sealed subs. It should be fun. I have it on a burned disc and want it on DVD or hd dvd for better quality. After all, I just use it for sub testing.

JBL, can you try Quarantine timestamp 51:08-52:58? I am curious how low it is. Not quite Pulse loud but nice bass nonetheless.

MK-Mate, run a frequency sweep instead it’s a lot simpler.

I don’t have it on DVD. Install the spectrumlab if you’re serious about bass that is.

It’s not a question of how loud it is. In the home the speakers are small for fronts and the bass extension I use is only in tiny amounts, not to overwhelm the LCR fronts and with LFE.1 on the other sub I only need the right amount to add that extra support not wobble the walls silly, because that is not the intent of what the film maker wanted. Turn down the subs!

The LFE track in the lab scene is sick!! I watched this about a week ago... calibrated system, sub not running hot, pre/pro set to -15 under reference. While I love my PB12-ISD, this scene was just too much for it. The port chuffing was extremely loud (I sit 14' from the sub). Got scared and lowered the volume.

Try adding another sub and decrease the level monitor frequency response in-room with Spectrumlab and SPL db if its not satisfactory add another sub of the same until you can’t bare it no more, at least its one way to deal with offending chuffing port noise.

Got that, just turn down the level where cuffing starts on most low frequencies okay so you’ll drop the db level down, but if you turned the sub on and off you’ll notice the sound flattening of going slightly dull.

With chuffing minimized add another sub and park it right beside the other sub, with that the level will go back up without the cuffing noise! Also frequency will extend down lower with a bit EQ you can stretch it down a bit further.

Now if can be asked to do another frequency waterfall of LCRS sandwiched on top of the LFE.1 and if can remember the db settings on Spectrumlab as its been changed slightly since I did these waterfalls. I’ll think about it.

Thank goodness I have original 1979 laserdisc widescreen Dolby stereo 4:2:4 on DVD-RW running now to cleanse my JBL of the sick puss thing called Pulse!:p
