Info:
Budget: Cheap as possible, I guess < $230
Room: Medium (20w x 14l x 9h)
Use: Movies, TV, PS3 and Xbox
Listening Habits: Normal, not really loud
Timeframe: Want to buy ASAP

So I have been looking through the threads here for a couple of days and I think I know how the responses will go, but I want to ask anyways. I have a medium sized living room and I need a cheap subwoofer. My two contenders right now are:

1 - Energy S8.3, I can get this one new for $150.
2 - PA-120, I can get this one new for $230.
3 - I guess the ESW-10 as well for around $185.

I am guessing that everyone is going to recommend the PA-120 since it is larger and my room is not small. Also I read the PA-120 thread and most people seem to like it. But, it is $80 more, do you think it will really make that much of a difference? The S8.3 doesn't seem to shabby from the reviews I have read.

I also considered the ASW-10 from TSC, but it is currently sold out.

Thanks for the help.

I have a PA-120 in a 10x11x8 room... I love bass so I wouldn't even dream of having something smaller. For your room I think it'd be worth it.

You might want to consider a BIC F12 for around $180.

Perhaps throw the Acculine ASub in the mix?

I went for the PA-120. I got the %10 ebay coupon and combined it with Ebay cashback to get it for $180 shipped.

bumbabeef - I was getting the s8.3 from wwstereo. I also bought the Energy Classic system (wife wouldn't allow bookshelf speakers) and wwstereo has it where you can get the Energy Classic system for $200 and the EC system + s8.3 for $350.

Thanks for the help everyone.
