Hello, I am planning on doing a HT/Media Room soon and just in the planning stage. I wanted to build a 2.35 screen and at the same time also have the ability to use my plasma tv for everyday tv watching. I've got a Pioneer KURO 50"

What would be the best idea to have the best of both worlds. Build a cabinet and have the plasma popup?? and mount the PJ screen..or motorized a PJ and mount the plasma. The second choice was my first thought in the beginning cause of the ease of installing but I am having second thoughts cause im worried that the screen would wrinkle eventually from going up and down.

What are your suggestions out there??? Any one have this setup?? If so, can you post some pictures.

Info:

Room is 20x12
screen wall is 12 ft
no windows in room so no llight issues

thanks

Either method has been done in the past. If you are doing a DIY screen, your better choice would be to have a fixed screen and the plasma pop up in front of it. If you do this, I'd suggest you have a curtain which will cover the screen when using the plasma ... the screen will be a big distraction otherwise.

If you are not doing a DIY screen, then your better choice would be to mount the plasma to the wall and purchase a screen which rolls down from the ceiling. Roll down screens from good manufacturers would not have a wrinkle problem due to continued use.
