Hey all! I'm new to these forums and have just a few questions..

I found this list on another forum with all the channels I can get OTA in Montreal. I checked with my TV and current antenna to see what I can get and I get all the "Montreal" channels .. some of those analog channels are still very high on noise but I guess I can live with it.. So I get 9 Analog Channels a 4 HD DTV channels

The antenna I'm using is pretty much.. a bar of metal in the shape of a bowtie... if anybody has seen those I dont know if its an antenna by itself but it works good.

I was wondering if getting a better antenna would get me those plattsburg channels or something.. That list says I can possibly get those but I'm not getting them..

I found a MANT510 for about 20$ (CAD) here in Montreal but didn't buy it because I was skeptical as if it could really help me get a better image and more channels.

So anybody know how I can get some more channels and maybe some better reception.. but most importantly more channels :)

Oh and by the way, I'm looking for a simple setup indoors.. I've read a lot on those huge outdoor antennas but I'd rather not with the type of housing I have and the lack of space in my house..

THank you very much!

There is a thread for indoor antennas.
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1037779

It appears most of the channels you want are UHF. UHF works better indoor as it's possible to get gain with a smaller antenna.

Some of the indoor antennas that have held the test of time of which I have read about for indoor UHF: If you want to build there are plans shown on the page above for a home made 4 bay you can place behind your TV. You could buy a DB2, though made for outdoors is small enough to be inside. The Silver Sensor has a lot of fans. Another antenna that is making a come back now it's back in production is the Channel Master 4149 Double Bow Tie. But you need to drill out the rivets that hold the twin lead, put in a small bolt and nut and attach a balun right to the back of the feed point. Not real hard to do.

For the most part I hear alot of people having more trouble than luck with amplified indoor antennas. One stands out that a lot like that is amplified, Terk HDTVi and HDTVa.

Read that thread above and get some ideas. Actually you did right with the MANt510 as I hear more complaints about antenna saying a $10 pair of rabbit ears works just as well.
