I have a unique situation with my plasma mount. I built my own display to go around the 42" plasma several years ago.
Here is a shot of the finish product.

Back then the wood studs were not centered on the wall nor the other studs where I wanted to put the 42" so what I had to do is screw two 1/4" thick metal strips to the studs to help distribute the weight and then bolted (four grade 8 nut and bolts) the plasma mount to the metal strips. there is no moving of that mount if memory serves.
here are some pictures of the build. If you look closely you see that the strip is screwed to the studs and then I bolted the bracket through the panel to the strip.

Now a want a 58" plasma. The Peerless PSWT UN-1 mount on the wall currently says it supports up to 150 lbs and up to 55" and the new screen is 136 lbs and 58" I'm ok with the weight and I don't really need any tilt, but I need some re-assurance / verification that this thing will hold. because I'd hate to have to redo that whole display.
Anybody got any idea on how to test if this will hold without destroying the wall / display?
I think i'm gonna a few extra screws to the metal strip and bracket just in case.
any Ideas / comments are welcomed.
