So, after being amazed by the amount of stations available for ota hdtv at my 1st location I tried to do a setup at the 2nd location. At my second location, I hardly got any channels.

Is the lack in stations at location 2 most likely because of bad tuner/antenna, or because of location? I’m asking because I want to know if it’s worth the trouble to upgrade the tuner and/or antenna there. External antenna is not an option because I rather pay $15/month for Comcast basic.

I’m newb about this, I don’t understand antennaweb but I tried posting relevant information. If I should gather more let me know.

Most or all of the major SF stations have their transmitters on Mt. Sutro inside the city. Note that Antennaweb lists KGO-DT as being 1.7 miles from your SF location. I assume that's one of the Mt. Sutro stations.

Antennaweb lists KGO-DT as being 41.5 miles from your San Jose location. That's well outside the range where one can reasonably expect to be able to use an indoor antenna. It looks like SJ doesn't have much in the way of nearby transmitters, just a few independents and PBS at around 8 miles.
