Need to get something for my dads b-day. He has a 62" Samsung DLP about 5months old and has a 19 dollar dvd player. I was thinking btw these to the Roku or the samsung 2500. Seeing how i dont think he would fully use the blu ray would the Roku look good on a 61" DLP?

Also for my LN52A630 samsung is it worth it to get the samsung 2500 or just get the xbox 360 to stream netflix?

thanks

You'll need a Netflix subscription to use the Roku, along with internet access. I have one and enjoy it. The interface is clean and very simple to use. The quality of the movies varies, some look great while some of the older TV episodes look a bit grainy. They have recently added the Amazon rentals to the Roku.

i would go with the blu-ray player

the netflix streaming has very limited HD content and requires a monthly $9 subscription - amazon has its movies available for rent now but none of them are HD

(me personally, I have the Western Digital HD with a 1000 gb drive (total cost $185) which I use to play bluray and dvd rips) I also have an appletv that has a lot of HD titles for rent (better than the amazon roku rentals right now)
