Can someone tell me what HD consumer level camcorders have come out recently or are soon coming out that natively can record time lapse video?

That seems to be a feature which has been dropped from consumer "camcorders". You can output some to a computer. You can record for X period of time then use software to compress. Some people use digital cameras. Etc. I have done all three ways, It really depends on exactly what you want to do.
