I've been tasked by my wife to buy a HD camcorder. I've narrowed it down to the CX12 and the HG20 (yeah I know one is flash memory based and 1 is HDD/Flashed based). The Cam's will be used for typical family usages(kids sports, vacations , kids recitals and some around the house videos). I've tried out a HF100 and HG20 and now currently trying out the CX12. I love how the Canon HG20 looked during my son's Little League game (amazing video) but in my other son's concert the HG20 just looked so bad indoors while the CX12 seemed to be much nicer in low light (much less grainy and a bit brighter). Canon seemed so grainy that any additional details seemed lost on the screen, when I went to CINE mode it made it so dark that it made that pretty unusable. My main question is, is there any way for the Canon HG20 to perform like the Sony in low light without having to go P24 or P30 CINE mode (which my wife hates).
