So I just bought this WD HD Media Player a couple days ago. I have it hooked to my 720p HDTV through HDMI. It works fine initially but if the unit is powered down and sits for a couple of hours it has problems. I turn on the media player again and i get video but no audio. Ive narrowed out that even though the player is powered down it is still sending a signal to my TV. What I am thinking is happening is the TV is thinking that the source is only video like if you were to hook a pc to the tv. I can then unplug the hdmi from port 1 on the tv to port 2 and i will then get sound and video. But when it is turned off again and it sits for a while it does the same thing.

Do you guys think this is a problem with the media player's itself that can be exchanged for a new one? Or is this something that others have seen.

Thanks for the help.

did you noticed your WDTV stays warm even though it's been powered down?
