My question is for those of you that have used Exposure in your screen wall or panels AND seen GOM OC703 samples. I know that many of the details on AT fabric options are discussed at length in many past posts, but I have not been able to find (via LOTS of searching) enough info to give me comfort on a decision I need to pull the trigger on tomorrow. I've waited almost 1.5 weeks now for a Dazian Exposure black sample to show up, but nothing yet. Obviously, it appeals to me from a cost perspective. I have the GOM OC703 samples and they are a bit rough/"burlap looking" to me anyway. I know they probably look fine from a distance, as they do in many screen shots here. Does the Exposure fabric look better/worse/ versus GOM or is it fairly similar? I want to finish my theater next week while I'm off work so I plan to order one or the other tomorrow.

Did you call dazian for samples or do they website thing? Website = slow train, phone works reportedly much better.

I have seen both, and ultimately went with dazian's janus line in my old space. I liked the texture of Expo, but my wife did not.

In my opinion, the Janus looked better than GOM - but has nowhere near the selection. I'll look through my photobuckt account for some pics I took for another guy of the Janus.

Here is one from when I was building my columnswhere it is illuminated so you can see the composition of the (janus) fabric:

Thanks! That really helps. It looks a lot smoother/tighter to me. I appreciate you taking the time to post the close ups!

Remember that is Janus - not Expo. Expo is similar from a tightness perspective, but it has kind of an embossed texture. I am sure you got it, but want to be 100% clear.

My understanding of dazian fabrics are the three AT lines are Exposure, Janus, and Celtic (white or black only).

I never tried Dazian, even though I heard it was cheaper and also looked nice, but I heared it was not as "stretch-friendly" as GOM. So I went with GOM (Anchorage Red Delicious and Black Onyx) along with FabricMate's FS150 track and boy was I glad that I went that route. I will recommend GOM fabric and track to anyone who is working on acoustically treating their room/theater, I cannot think of any better way to cover your walls with fabric. The combined use of GOM fabric and track is so flexible and forgiving, it sure beats furring and stapling fabric on ripped 2x1 or 1x1 studs. The only place I used ripped 1x1's was for baseboard trim and door trim furring, since the staples were going to be covered with baseboard trim and door trim, but if I honestly had an extra $600 to spend on track to use everywhere I woukld have done that, its so easy to work with GOM/Track, nothing beats it, it was prpbably the most stress-free part of my theater construction (atleast once the track was installed throughout the theater)

I tryed the exposure first and did not like it. It has a slight pattern to it that made it alot of work trying to keep from stretching the pattern out of shape. I ended up switching to the janus. It was alot easier to work with as it does not have a pattern.

Here is a link to the exposure http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=12528548#post12528548

Thanks for all the comments and help. I'm only using this for my screen wall and bass traps, so not as critical on the track situation. I'm glad you commented on the pattern with Exposure. I ordered black Dazian Janus today. I'm sure it will be fine for the screen wall, even basing it off the screen pics here. Thanks again!
