Ok guys, i just picked up my first real HT gear, and i bought a pair of Energy C-100's for the surrounds. I bought a pair of Sanus 31" wooden speaker stands on which to set them.

As it stands, i can't seem to figure out a way to attach them. The manual states that the threaded hole in the back of the speaker is for wall mounting only and infers that i should simply set the speakers on top of the stands?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but is that the normal way, you basically just set the surround on the stands?

Thanks for your help guys!

Unfortunately this is the recommended technique offered by the manufacturer. Personally I believe you are tempting fate. I have read that some people who are faced with this dillemma have used carpet tape on the bottom of the speaker to fasten it bit more secure. Goodluck.

Yeah i was thinking quite heavily of picking up some double sided tape and hoping for the best. Thank fully i have them in the corner and behind couches, so short of some serious monkey business they should be safe from any major knocks/hits.

Thanks for the headsup.

I use 2 sided tape and believe me once attached, they are not falling off unless the stand it's self falls over. They are very secure from bumps and such.

You can use Uhu Holdit plastic, available at Lowes. Put a small bit at each corner, holds well and is easily removable. Also weight your stands with lead shot or sand, if possible.
