I'm a sucker for side scrolling shooters and this one is pretty good. For only $3.99 and having trophies and custom music, I couldn't pass it up.
Martez, I think you might like this one as well.

Looks good.
It says on the PS Blog that it is $4.99. Doesn't really matter because it is so cheap, but just noticed that.
Can you detail it more? How does it compare to SSHD and others? Length, modes, etc.
I'm interested, but after Soldner X I am wary. Nothing has been able to top SSHD yet...

Basically, the levels are sort of like containers and you hit O to flip the other way and just keep going back and forth and enemies keep popping up from both sides. You have 2 different weapons to start with and you can change back and forth and collect weapon power ups.
It's WAAAYYYY better than Soldner X.

Is this an "x" to shoot or right analog stick to shoot?
If you want to see what the game is like download a demo of a PC game called Space Tripper, to which Astro Tripper is the sequel to.

X to shoot, left or right analog to move (or motion control) [] to change weapon, O to change direction.
So far, I would put it in second place, behind SSHD, but that's only based on about 45 minutes of play.

Here is my mini review on this game:
Downloaded this because I am a sucker for side scrolling shooters and at $4.99 it was a no brainer. While playing the training level, at first I was dissappointed because the board doesn't scroll until you advance and the level is puny causing you to go back and forth until you beat the level. But not to worry, it's only training! When the training is over, the board is still pretty small and you still do a little back and forth but with the addition of objectives and bosses it gets really good. My favorite part is that even on Hard, there are so many projectiles and enemies to dodge but they are so distinct and clear and always provide paths of escape. It never gives you moments of helplessness(Soldner X) except provides a real challenge. The music is HORRIBLE but you can add a custom soundtrack which is great because you can leave the sound effects on while playing music in the backround. One warning, holding x is auto fire however your weapon power depletes the longer you hold x and you must release to recharge. I found myself mashing x in a lot of sections because it gets so hectic and when your weapon is drained mashing x is the only way out. I personally like this as its kind of nostalgic mashing x and I can do it at super sonic speeds so the bosses don't stand a chance! :) In summary, a must buy for any side scrolling shooter fan.
thanks for the reviews i will get it :)
