I was at Best Buy last night and noticed the Sony DVP-CX995V was on clearance sale there (Brighton, MI). These are boxed units, 2 left at Brighton store, 3rd one floor model. I asked the sales person "what's up with this clearance sale"? He checked the computer and informed me 4/19 is last date they will be carrying them. He checked and other stores in SE Mich also have them on clearance, Novi (4 units), etc.

His specific words, "Usually clearance sale means a new/replacement model is coming soon".

I'm on the fence post of buying one of these to house my 250-ish DVD collection, but if the clearance sale means a new 400 model (BR??) is coming out I'd wait for that.

I already have a Sony 400 Mega CD changer, 8 years old and working fine.

(no price talk but the sale was about 25% off MSRP)
