I'm looking for a loveseat for my back row. I want it to be black leather, both sides recline, and be home theater seating (meaning I don't want a regular couch or lazyboy. The catch is that I am width constrained.

Since it's a loveseat, it will have an armrest on each side and 2 seats, with no armrest between the seats. The widest I can go is 46" wide for 1 armrest and 2 seats. What I am saying is that the total width doesn't need to be 46", 46" would include one outside armrest and 2 seats. So assuming an armrest is 5", the total width of the loveseat would be 51". Make sense? This also assumes that the back part of the couch that your back and head go up against do not extend out over the armrest. See this chair as KMart as an example: http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_10104_021W016820110001P?

The back of the seat does not extend over the armrest, see what I mean? The reason I need it this way is that there is a column right behind where the loveseat will go. So instead of having a seat that doesn't recline because of the column, I'm going to scoot it out away from the wall so that the armrest os directly behind the column, and when your recline back, the back recline right next to the column, just missing it. I hope this makes sense.

I'm hoping to find something inexpensive. I actually like the KMart ones, but they're a bit too big. They would be 51" wide not including one of the armrest, so 5" too big.

I'm hoping someone can help me find something that will work.

Thanks.

I don't know about inexpensive, but a couple of options come to mind from Berkline.

- Some of their models have an extra-wide seat option which could serve as a small loveseat. For example the 45090 has a 35"-wide armless loveseat configuration. Possible issues are that it reclines as a single unit rather than two individual seats, and that their catalog page doesn't show it being available with arms at all.

- They also have thinner designs, such as the 45086, which shows a 2-seat love seat with arms at 54" wide. The arms are each 4.5" wide, so the two seat backs plus one arm puts it at 49.5" which may still be too large for your layout.

- If the problem is strictly that the pole is behind the seats, note that these "wallaway" designs can be placed pretty close to the wall and still recline. The reclining mechanism shifts the seat forward as it reclines. I think Berkline needs about 12", but I recall seeing some other brand that maybe could be as close as 3".

Yes, this is a good idea, but the "Seat and a Half" is not available with arms, as you have mentioned.

The 45088 and 45086 (same dimensions) are, as far as I know, the thinnest models of theater seats on the market.

Berkline requires only 3" for all "Wallaway" models.

Goog luck with your pursuit, but I don't think you will find "motion" (reclining) home theater seats that small within your budget. You could have a seat custom-built for you, but that would be out of your budget if you are looking for an inexpensive seat. You may want to consider two traditional movie theater rockers for that space.

Thanks for everyone's input.

The 45086 and 45088 would definitely be too wide. The wallaways may work, but my concern there is that it would make the chair too long when reclined. I don't have a lot of clearance between the first and second rows, unfortunately. I will keep looking.
