Our Sony DVP-NS715P DVD player died. It was feeding our HK AVR245 and Sony KDL-40V2500.

Anything that's as good or better (ideally better) than that for both CD and DVD playback
(music and video of equal importance) under $250 is gonna make me happy.

Sony DVP-NS700H/B 1080p Upscaling DVD Player is a good basic upscaling player.

You can find a number of reviews on SonyStyle or Amazon.

I own it, its only drawback is its slow in ejecting disks and start of play compared to other players I own. The beauty of it is its great video, easy of use ergonomics. I'd say it 75% as good as 1080i. Can't loose for $70.
