The price on the i1display lt finally dropped to the point where I pulled the trigger on one. My plan is to use it, the ColorHCFR SW, the free blu-ray calibration pattern disc, and calibration guide for dummies, to adjust the greyscale on my Panny 46" 800U. Here's what I'm thinking:

1. Take a benchmark of the current settings and graphs, in THX and custom mode

2. Try to get custom mode as good as possible, compare with THX mode

3. If THX mode is still better, or if it doesn't seem custom mode is good enough, calibrate THX mode

This could take a while - hope my wife can put up with it :)
