I have a Sony RDR-GX355 DVD Recorder. I have never had any trouble with it until last night. I am wanting to watch the new Transporter 3 DVD, so I pop it in the player and the DVD player has a hard time loading the DVD. It makes a loud vibrating noise and tries to start playing the movie but skips and finally gets stuck and stops playing. I tried at least a dozen other movies in it and all work fine. Try the new DVD again and same results. So I assume the DVD is defective and take it back to Wal-Mart and exchange it for another today. Get it home and try again...same results. It's like the DVD is out of balance or something. The player makes a lot more noise than usual and refuses to play this disc. I try it in my PC and it works fine. Try it in my friend's Mac and it works fine. Try it in my daughter's DVD player (Sony DVP-NS300) and it plays there too. I don't know what to think now. Is it the player or DVD? Spent about an hour with Sony in the online chat and the rep. finally gave up and asked me to call their level 2 support. Anyone else have any trouble with this disc? I got the standard definition 2-disc set with the digital copy in widescreen. I wonder if there's some anti-copying sofeware screwing it up. Should I go back and just get the single widescreen version of it and try that? Since the DVD has been opened, I can only exchange it for the same movie. Anyone else have and trouble with the Transporter 3 DVDs?
