What's the best way to push Pandora over a wired whole-house audio system? I have speaker wire and Cat5 wire for volume controls running from a central audio head to several rooms.

I love what I see with Sonos, but I don't need the music broadcast wirelessly (I have the wires) and I would prefer to use a universal remote or inwall volume controls for everything - and not have to use the Sonos control/iPhone app for Sonos?

Any ideas? Would like to get the Pandora metadata displayed on the universal remote and the inwall controls.

Should I assume there's not a good solution for this? Any help would be appreciated.

simple, just use a sonos or a squeeze box, or even a PC on the backend of your audio system... you can even use wire if you like...

as for getting metadata on a universal remote, that may be a bit more complicated... I haven't been following remotes for a while, do any support 2 way com yet?

Most now support 2 way. I have pronto and there are two 3rd party add ins for Pronto to control Squeezebox (including Pandora and many other streaming stations) and receive metadata and album cover art to you remote. The add ins are extremely reasonably priced at only $30. I feed mine into a Nuvo whole house amp. It is awesome setup for a fraction of most whole home audio setups.
