I really like the GOM Anchorage over the 701 stuff. I have read several threads with some using it as the screen wall in front of speakers, but others saying not to put infront of speakers. Anyone with experience on this?

I just recently discovered this myself; I always thought FR701 was the only "acoustically transparent" GOM, but evidently Anchorage is OK too. Or at least Anchorage is OK over Lin; maybe just FR701 for over speakers application though?

Not good in front of speakers.

OK, well that eliminates Anchorage, but I may still use it for my wall panels.
So what else is ok in front of speakers besides 701? Dazien? Which Dazien?

I too do not like the Black FR-701 fabric, or any FR-701 fabric, it looks and feels so "wool-ish" and rough, but while I did my entire theater walls with Anchorage (Black Onyx + Red Delicious) I still opted for black FR701 for my screen wall's GOM fabric panels, and my the fabric over the surround speaker column opennings (where the speaker sits at 55" height).
I dont personally think the FR701 looks bad, I just think you should use it in the areas you REALLY need it, like your screenwall if you have a false screen wall w/ speakers behind it, but for the rest of the theater walls (bacl and side walls) I would go with something a little more aestetic and smooth.

I am going to use Anchorage on the wall panels, but I have speaker grill cloth for the screen wall. I can't remember right now where I purchased my grill cloth from.
I'm putting Anchorage on the walls, Fr701 on the screen wall and Spinel on the columns.
Spinel is not quite as transparent (acoustically) as FR701 but it is much more transparent than Anchorage. I was told Spinel is fine for the surrounds but not to use it in front of the LCR speakers.

I spoke with a rep at Fabricmate last week who said that Anchorage was ok for a front wall in front of speakers. Has anyone used this or tested it?

I think the word "ok" is very subjective. Is Anchorage OK in front of speakers, as in sound will come through? Sure. But will it reduce high-frequency response, almost assuredly. IMO, Anchorage is slightly more intrusive than 701...and in fact 701 is probably slightly less transparent than true grill cloth. Only you can decide if the design is worth the trade-off, slight or not.

Ok, so under that argument, how would Anchorage compare to Danzin? Or how would 701 compare to danzin?
