It's funny. I go through WWE phases. Sometimes I'm totally into it (my guilty pleasure) and sometimes I couldn't care less. One thing remains constant for me though and it's a question I think needs to be answered: why do all the WWE games absolutely SUCK?

I mean, seriously, the best wrestling game to date is still WCW vs. NWO on the N64. Why haven't things evolved since then? THQ has mangled the franchise. I downloaded the Legends of Wrestlemania demo last night and then promptly deleted it off my hard drive. Why has the genre become so stale? It seems like that other franchise (the one on Spike) made a good effort at a game last year, but I never really checked it out. Seems like WWE's franchise is just plain old stuck.

Maybe the designers of MLB The Show can do a deep wrestling game. I would name my wrestler "Mickey Rourke". :cool:

Smackdown vs. Raw is fun on the Wii. Maybe it's because of the wildly flailing about and the shallow mechanics that make it easy to pick up and play.

Yeah, WCW vs NWO Revenge was the best wrestling game then along came WWF No Mercy. Then along game SmackDown Here Comes The Pain. The SvR series has gotten very stale and am not even remotely interested in the latest spinoff Legends of Wrestlemania. Kinda sucks considering that I used to watch wrestling religiously since I was 4 years old. Once WCW got bought by Vince, wrestling has just gone downhill from there.
