Hi All
Im trying to calibrate my projector and i have some questions
My Setup :
Projector - Epson Emp-82 ( color temp : 6500k , color mode : theatre )
Input - Vga
System -
Windows Vista 32Bit
Ati Radeon HD4670
Resolution : 1024x768 @85HZ
Im using AVS HD 709
I don't got a calibration device
Trying to do basic color calibration using these filters :
http://www.lightingelstore.com/servlet/the-257/VIDEO-CALIBRATION-PACK-%283%29/Detail
Running through media player classic ( hc ) with ffdshow ( rec 709 in settings )
Controls i have:
Saturation ( according to the manual ) control over red , blue and green from the projector
Master saturation and hue via "Avivo Color" from catalyst cc
And gamma , brightness , contrast for each color also from the ati catalyst cc
now before this try i did some "eyes" ( just by feeling ) calibration and got the colors saturation on my projector to :
red - -6
green - 2
blue - 6
i reset the color settings of course before i started
and i used the blue filter to get the overall saturation and hue settings with the "Flashing Color Bars" pattern ( Main Menu - Basic Settings ) and using "Avivo Color" from the catalyst cc
when i try to see "Flashing Primary Colors" pattern ( Main Menu - Misc. Patterns )
using the blue and red filter - flashing bars are almost the same as the vertical bar
using the green filter - way off and not even close to match
the color setting on the projector does nothing to it ( as far as i can see )
using the "Flashing Color Brightness" pattern after that i get 0 in the red and blue bars but about 14% high ( +30 ) using the green filter
lowering the green color in the projector to the min ( -16 ) lowered it to +24
the gamma , brightness and contrast controls in the catalyst cc effect this not like it supposed to look
after that i still had to change the color settings ( r:-6 , g:2 , b:6 ) to get a neutral picture as far as my eyes see
now what am i doing wrong?
is there a different way of controling r/g/b hue / saturation ? from the pc maybe?
do i use the wrong patterns or misunderstood them?
or can't i even do what im looking for without a calibration device?
thanks in advance ,
ofir
