Hey guys. I ran into a problem today with my build. Im about to build the riser for the second row, but Ive run into a problem. I took a recliner I had downstairs to get an idea of the width of the walkway next to each row, and quickly found out that the back of the chair blocks the door into the theater from opening all the way. This is a lazy boy type recliner, and the back of the chair leans back more than I think the berkline 45004 does. So I need to know how far out the TOP of the back of the chair sticks out from the back of the legs of the chair in the upright position, and in the reclined position. So any of you 45004 owners out there with a 4' level, and a tape measure(which Im sure all of you have ;) ) Could you please measure your chair for me. I cant build my riser until I know for sure where to build it so the chair wont interfere with the door. So Im at a stand still. :( Im so close to carpet, I can smell it. But for now. Im stuck. I would really appreciate it if you could help me out. Thanks. Ive attatched a pic to show the problem Im talking about.

Simple solution. Make your door swing out instead of in. I had to do the same thing.

Waaaaay to late for that for a number of reasons. Thanks though. I know there are quite a few 45004 owners out there. :) *hint* *hint*

Pleeeease can somebody help me out with these measurements. Roman, do you have any of them in stock?

How deep is your platform?

Usually you do not need more than 6" behind the Berkline recliners (sometimes even 4"). If your platform is more than 6' deep you can push the chair forward a bit.

Sorry, I do not have the 45004 to measure.

Im trying to keep as much room as I can between the rows of seating and the screen. So I want to keep the riser as far back as I can, while still having the door functional of course. I was going to go with a 6' deep riser, so I really dont have any room to move the seats forward on the riser. Right now it will put the front row eyes at about 10'6" or so from a 114" screen, and then the back row 6' behind that. Roman, if I bought one black group 2 microfiber 45004 chair from you. How long would it take to get to Utah? Thanks.

I was actually having similar problems when building mine. Solved it by having the screen where the door side was. On a related note, my back row is only 5' away and it works fine. Also my front row is about 9.5' away from a 118in screen. This is all with Coaster studio. They have similar dimension as Berkline 090. My guess is the 004 should be much smaller.

I would recommend if it becomes a problem, to either shorten the distance between the 2 row or move the front row closer. Depending on how many people uses it all the time, moving the front row closer might not be a problem. With us, most of the time, there's only 2 of us watching and we only use the back row. It's been almost a year now and we have not had any guess mention the front row being too close.

skid_68,

Any custom order takes 4-6 weeks to get after the order is placed with the Berkline.

I *think* I have the 45004.

So you want me to place a level vertically against the back of the leg and then take a measurement from that vertical line to the back of the headrest in both the upright and fully reclined position?

I can check when I get home which is in 5 hours.

Place the level against the top of the backrest, and then level down from there. Then measure the distance from the edge of the level(same edge thats against the backrest) to the back of the leg, in the upright, and fully reclined positions I would be extreeeeeemely greatful. :) (hopefully you do have the 45004's)

Thanks for the reply roman. But there is no way I could wait that long, it would just kill me. Hopefully Eskay can help me out.

Thanks guys.

Fully upright: 4.75"
Fully reclined: 10"

Of course there is a couple of inches of wiggle room since the headrest can be compressed. These measurements are with the level barely touching the headrest.

You're the man eskay. I cant thank you enough. I can now build my riser, and be one step closer to a finished theater. :D. Thanks again.

I would build your riser deeper than 6 ft. Anything less than 6'6" and tall people will be kicking the front row.

My riser is 7' deep.
