Are there a lot of titles? The reason I ask is that an obscure Phillip Seymour Hoffman movie, called "Synedoche, New York" was recently released, and none of my local video stores have the blu-ray available. I need HD! I figured it was worth a shot, especially since it's a 'Sony Pictures Classic' release.

They do have an online rental service, but the selection isn't huge. I don't have any way to check for that movie at work, though.

I did look and Blockbuster does not offer that movie on BD for rental, only DVD.

That movie is super confusing. It's like the film equivalent of The Sound and the Fury. My wife and I went to see it because her cousin is in it, and it's probably the most hard to understand movie I've ever seen.

It's not exactly a visual masterpiece, you'll be ok watching it in upscaled SD if you can't find it on BD elsewhere.

It is available on the PSN network; but it's standard def, not in high definition (and it's also $15).

Netflix has it on Blu-Ray.

You weren't considering buying a PS3 just for this one movie, were you? I assume if you had one you'd know there was the PSN network available and would be able to check yourself.

This movie doesn't really require HD though, as another poster pointed out: It's not really a visual masterpiece or anything.

HD brings out the snob in us all.

Haha, that's true. I hate when I get a DVD from Netflix instead of BD. Even when it's some movie that wouldn't really look any better in HD.
