I've been playing around with my new (refurb) 2.8Ghz iMac, and I am wondering if it's possible to do the following:

Set a script/action that launches FrontRow/Plex/Boxee (any or all - I am agnostic to media player at the moment) to only the secondary screen if attached (not mirroring).

I am going to run my iMac's output (DVI-HDMI) to my receiver (in the next room, using a 35ft HDMI cable), and would like to be able to turn the to Receiver input, and launch the app (using my iPod touch and VNC), and have the media front-end come up automatically.

Is this possible?

Thoughts/suggestions?

I have seen a command line program called cscreen that in conjunction with an Applescript did pretty much what you want, though I'm not sure how reliable it is on Leopard and I don't personally use it. I don't even think it's available any longer.

10.4: Easily use Front Row on a second monitor (TV) (http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20051201230156840)

I would think with a little digging should be able to set something like this up using Apple's universal access features. Essentially, you'd want to move the menu bar to the second display and then enter Front Row. You'd want your Boxee prefs to be correct, but if the menu bar is on the TV, then it should just work.
