This may slip under the radar for many. I bought it on the strength of Edward Norton, a favourite actor of mine, and the genre - I was rewarded for doing so.
This is a fine movie, with strong performances by all - it has a gritty reality to it (no doubt from the casting of non-actors who live in the area depicted, along with big name actors at their best), and it has moments which are quite confronting and powerful.
I have the Australian disc, which is New Line. The picture is fantastic - no edge enhancement, and no DNR - a nice sharp image with a nice grain structure. The True HD soundtrack is superb.
I would highly recommend this to those who, like me, enjoy gripping and realistic police corruption dramas. The included documentary of how the movie was made is perhaps the most honest and raw I have seen - it's an incredibly candid look into the production of a movie, with all the tension and problems involved, and is a must watch.
