Here's the thing, I have already played

These games look decent, unfortunately they didn't catch my attention like Bioshock and Uncharted did. Anything else out there I should check out?

Super Stardust HD? At first glance it may not look like much, but I think it has more individual moving things on the screen at one time than any other game. 1080p, too.

Graphics are pretty subjective, depending on what impresses you: resolution, framerate, texture, et. cetera. I think Uncharted at KZ2 are pretty much regarded as the "best" out there.

I haven't looked yet but did you start this same exact thread in the Wii forum also?

Since you mention Bioshock as one of two of examples of "best looking" games, I'm not sure what your criteria are. Technically speaking, Bioshock isn't all that impressive. What makes it look good is its stellar art design not its tech.

The best I've seen are GT5 and Bioshock. I haven't played MGS4.

Flower is neat, you'd probably appreciate that. Wipeout HD for sure. Technically Killzone 2 and then Uncharted, IMO.

If KZ2 didn't have so much going on at once on a screen it would look a lot better than uncharted... but for me I think MGS4 takes the cake followed very closely by Drake and KZ2...*pets his PS3*

Uh, what? Killzone 2 has a noise effect but it is cleaner for me than Gears of War 2. Epic actually seemed to lower the textures and level of detail from the first game, distant objects look like blobs. The upside being greater scope in the visuals, but Killzone 2 destroys it graphically.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree. Maybe it's just cause I only played the demo, but on my 46'' plasma, the noise and blurring were ridiculous and the animations were about what I would have expected if this were a N64 title.

Of all the PS3 games I've played, personally, and am not just relying on second-hand information, I think that RE5 matches Gears of War for the most part and the first stage of Ninja Gaiden Sigma was also very nice. As I said before, I have very high hopes for God of War 3.

killzone 2 hands down ... Uncharted 2 is pretty much CGI lol. They have said that all the trailers were rendered on the game engine ... which pretty much makes that game look ... CRAZY.

Besides, the FF series has never been known for having cutting edge graphics tech. It's better known for killer art design, RPG gameplay innovations, pre-rendered CG cutscenes, and so on.

Agreed. Combine that with the ridiculously long development cycle and the hype that has been surrounding the game for years...I wasn't impressed.

Uncharted 2, however, looks very very good.

Hmm as it stands I have played almost all these games somewhat.

The show 09 right now is the best i have seen on any console.

You can't just post screenshots and say that one game looks better. Those aren't even real screenshots. Gears of War 2 is definitely a nice-looking game. It has fantastic production value and matches KZ2 in that department... they are both epic games.

My beef with Killzone 2 is there is almost TOO much going on. They have their noise effect running, blur, tons of particle effects, screen filters, it sometimes obscures the action. Gears of War 2 clearly doesn't match the lighting of KZ2, which is as good as anything on the market that I know of. On the other hand Gears models look really nice, they have more detail. Both games are very well-animated (n64 game, wth?).

You could definitely make a case for Uncharted looking better than both of these FPSes, though. The new Uncharted particularly, if they fix the screen tearing I'd give it my vote ;)

Final Fantasy XII is not going to be anything new graphically. It's art direction, smart modeling, and sophistication of Square that makes the FF series shine. It's crazy too, you look at FFXII, which is a PS2 game, IMO it has better spell effects than Lost Odyssey, which is a next-gen game!

I agree MLB 09 The Show has an unbelievable feel when playing it. It is beyond realistic looking. A great title.

I was a bit disappointed with GoW2's visuals. For one thing the game still has that problem where its hard to tell allies and enemies apart from even a medium distance. For another thing that "tons of enemies" scene was just bad looking... they looked like sprites or like 200 polygon PSX style models. Then when I was in the tunnel (again early in the game) I'd see the enemy parts "shrinking" when they disappeared. Okay that is not uncommon, gotta save memory etc., but it looked really, really cheesy.

It's crazy too, you look at FFXII, which is a PS2 game, IMO it has better spell effects than Lost Odyssey, which is a next-gen game!

FFXII looks better than Lost Odyssey period.

BTW pet peeve of mine, why call it next gen? 360 is over 3 years old.

Killzone 2 - The most technically impressive overall. So much going on.
Wipeout HD - The one I show non-gamer friends and family. I think it's the
most eye-popping to the average person. SO smooth and clean and the way the sunlight hits the track...just pure eye candy.
Uncharted - 2 looks like it will blow even this away.
MGS4 - The only thing this got wrong was Snake's wedgie. God I hated seeing that the whole game.
Burnout Paradise - So fast and never hiccups.
MLB 09 The Show - Best looking sports game ever.
CoD W@W - The scene when you come out of the tunnel and see the Reichstag with planes flying all over the place and explosions everywhere is pretty nice.

my brother has MLB09 THE SHOW, it looks great. it looks so real, i mean even the clouds in the sky move.

i just grabbed a used copy of Gran Turismo 5 P a couple nights ago and all i can say is that i should have gotten it sooner. the visuals are great.

I have NEVER agreed with anyone's posts as completely as I agree with yours. I was playing MLB 09 The Show last weekend when my dad stopped by. He asked "The Yankees are playing in their new stadium already?" It took him a good while to realize it was just a game as I had a cut scene going after a homerun was hit. Suffice it to say, he was stunned. He had a similar reaction to last year's version, but this time he just said "Wow. The game you had last year was stunning but this looks real to me!" Made me smile. Of course, I haven't been playing too much The Show as Rockband has completely taken me over like a drug addiction. That game is too much fun. (It also makes me appreciate real musicians a LOT more. At the bar I was at today, they had a band there who was playing a lot of songs that I typically play in RB. After their set, I talked to the guitarist and complimented him on the job he did. I also mentioned how much more respect I have for guys like him thanks to RockBand and he just laughed and said "I hear that a lot now.")

i actually thought that PURE (the ATV racing game) looked REALLY good too. i'm pretty sure it's not a PS3 exclusive, but it looks damn fine.

Martez I have 2 (with 1's songs) and about 30-40 DLC tracks. I only have 2 guitars though. I haven't played much lately but plan on getting back into it. The wife likes to join in and play lead.

as good as killzone looks, i still have to give it to uncharted.(AND I JUST STARTED PLAYING YESTERDAY):)

Uncharted takes it for me. I think the art style helps tremendously in that game, as well as the texture work and bump maps. I also really like the dialogue Drake throws around during fire fights or when a grenade lands near his feet. A really polished game.

Rockband 1 and 2, though I only play RB2 now. To be honest, however, I am not really an online gamer. Especially a game like RB where I don't want to crap on someone's fun if something comes up and I have to suddenly leave, or if my Diabetes decides to rear its ugly head and give me a hypoglycemic event. When that happens, RB is just unable to be played.

It looks good, but it's very sterile. I think MS:PR looks better with the variety of effects.
