I am picking up a TH-58PZ800U and read a lot of posts about burn in and the DVD's by D-NICE that can be used. I wondered if there were any specific settings I should set this unit up to before running the disks. Anyone offer me any help and best practices on a new one of these sets ?

D-Nice didn't create the DVD (Evangelo did) but you can use D-Nice's break-in settings and procedure that he posted at the beginning of the the Official Panasonic 12G Settings/Issues Thread. It should work the same for your older 11G model.

there is at least one (may be more) thread about break-in/burn-in you should search get a sense of the different user experiences.

i have 2 plasmas with combined age of over 3-1/2 years, each watched several hours a day- i never used any break-in and have no image-retention. the modern plasmas are much better in this respect.

you do have to use some common sense precautions like gaming with full brightness for hours every day.
