Hey guys i have a problem with my Laserdisc player. I try to play a LD and then the player recognizes it saying theres a disc inside but when i try to play it the disc spins for a little bit and then it stops after 5 or 10 secs. Any tips on how to fix this issue?

I'll be as gentle and respectful as possible. Bail on the Sony. Start looking at your local Craigs List or Ebay for a Pioneer. They are much more dependable and higher performing. Based on my experience Sony laserdisc players aren't worth the trouble.

You can try a CD as the CD will play if the bitstream is read. LDs require the video to sync for the unit to play.

Personally I agree to just buy a Pioneer unit as the Sony's had bad reliability and a grainy picture. I believe the MDP-650 was the only Sony unit with a good reputation.
