'March 27, 2009 will be the last day of manufacture for the 9G PIONEER ELITE LINE in the U.S.A.' No mention was made of inventory on hand.

BOTTOM LINE: If your planning on buying a 111, 141, or 151 start moving as time and inventory are running out. Keep in mind that if you do purchase one , you want to know that in the event it comes damaged or has a buzz that their is still inventory around to exchange it for.

Another thread has info about how pioneer is planning to continue to make elites in Japan only for the next year or so. Presumably no more non-elites.

Basically they will keep a single plant open (in Japan) to make these panels. Assuming they follow through with this plan, this is very good news. Not only will more people end up with kuros, but this has the effect of keeping the benchmark display on the market in a year where it really is needed against some efforts from other HDTV companies that will assuredly fall short. Hopefully in one years time a display will surpass it (probably a high-end panasonic). With the kuro on the market still it will encourage others to up their game.

If it vanishes we go back at least a year as the bar is lowered significantly.

All Pioneers are just about gone nationwide from what I am seeing.

I bet the panels made in Japan are going to stay in Japan.
