View Full Version : Why am I seeing all the channels?

Hi everyone:

I'm new to this DVR/PVR technology. So I got my first DVR (Pace TDC 575D) from Comcast yesterday. I am signed up for a Digital Starter package but somehow I can view almost all the channels without any warnings or nothing.

Does it mean that they will charge me for each channel I tune to? Or did they screw something up?

PS. The intersting thing is that when I came into Comcast office the lady that was helping me said that she was very tired and was waiting for the weekend, then she went somewhere and brought my DVR that was out of the box and looked like she just unplugged it from somewhere. I'm thinking now that maybe she gave me one of their display boxes.

Sometimes the cable companies enable all the channels to new (digital) customers for the first month in the hope that you will want to expand your viewing package.

Well, that might be the case, but they didn't tell me anything about it.

I would have to agree with Speedskater here.

When I first got Comcast HD service every channel, including the premiums was available for the first month.

This is just a teaser, so a month from now you will be "missing" the extra channels and subscribe to them.
