Hello,
I'm not sure where else to post this so here goes. Moderators, please feel free to move this elsewhere if appropriate.
I have an older Sony SD DVD player that I can't get to work properly with a Verizon FIOS Motorola QIP6416-2 DVR.
When I had DirecTV, I had an s-video cable go from the DTV PVR to my video1 input on the receiver (Sony STR-DE835). Then, s-video from receiver video1 output to s-video video1 input on my Sony Trinitron. The DVD player was hooked up using s-video out to the s-video DVD input on the receiver. Whenever I inserted a DVD, it would automatically show on the Video 1 input of the TV. When I stopped the DVD, I would cycle through the inputs of the TV and whatever channel the DTV receiver was on would show.
When I try the same hookup with the Motorola DVR, I can get the DVD to play but after turning it off, I get no video from the Motorola receiver, even after cycling throught the TV inputs. The only way I can get the Motorola to display is if I connect it directly to the video1 s-video input of the TV.
Unfortunately, this old TV only has one s-video input on video1. I've even tried using component cables and it still won't work.
I hope all of this makes sense. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should try and hook this up? I'm definitely no genius when it comes to this type of thing but it was working at one time.
Thanks!
