I have been using my xbox 360 as my digital media adapter (DMA) and/or streaming device to my plasma HDTV, but the noise that machine makes it unbearable for watching movies or listening to music. Are there any streaming devices that make essentially no noise? ie. no spinning hard or optical drive, and no fans? I need a rich level of codec support for streaming, including my "raw" AVCHD files from my Canon Vixia camcorder.

The ioBox 100HD does not have a fan nor optical drive. You may likely hear the hard drive if you opt to install one in the box.
