I have an old Xbox running XBMC and seems like a good solution in order to control the music on the back patio with the Iphone remote application, my only question is, in order to make this as simple as possible, I would like to eliminate an amplifier that would need to be connected from the Xbox to the speakers,

is there any other inline solution that I can use? Or maybe if I can't do without the amplifier, what amplifier would do blutooth or wireless remote control

Also, is there a way " if any of you know" of turn on and off the xbox (xbmx) remotely?
Thanks

neverheard of bluetooth or wifi AMP. seriously dounbt such an animal exists at your price range...

If you want to turn the xbox on/off remotely you need one of these (which is IR and will not work with your iphone).

XBMC can control volume both through digital and analog output so there is no need to be able to control the amp volume remote. but you will have to manually power on and off the amp.

What you really need for this is Sonos, but I imagine you know that and are trying to ave money.
