Anyone have an idea on what I could use for a nice trash can in a dedicated Home Theater? I don't want to have a regular trash bin sitting on the side.

My wife and I want to do a 50's diner theme outside the theater room, I found this site
http://barsandbooths.com/bandbtrashcans.htm
and its got everything you could dream of, including theater stuff, vintage metal signs, etc. Lots of fun stuff(Never thought I'd be asking my wife for a custom trash can for my theater for my birthday)

Jeff:

$150 for a trash can? Man, we are really in deep here!

That Bars and Booths is less than 20 miles from me. I found it on the web last week and I may head up there this weekend. Looks like a cool place!

Just toss it on the floor, like a real theater. :P

We have an infrared motion sensor garbage can in our kitchen. It's quite a conversation piece for folks who see it for the first time. I think it could work nicely in a home theater as well.

I would post a link, but since this is my first post...guess I'm not allowed. But here's a picture.

If you go to overstock.com and search for 'trash can', you can find it.

Let me know if it's as cool as it looks on the web. ( I may have to road trip to my sisters place in V.a. under false pretense)

I think the place is cool, but you can find better deals on the web. As an example, the retro booths that I priced with them were well over $2,000 if I picked them up. Check out restaurant supply houses for much better prices.

This is where I got my booths.http://www.centralrestaurant.com/Nostalgic-50s-Single-BoothV-Back--Grade-G-c130p10435.html Very similar,if not the same, as the booths they have in the Charles Town store. I use the booth prices as an example.

Retro Planet is another site you may find interesting.

Altough I'm all for better deals, I have a specific vision for our 50's diner theme, and Charles Town nails it. (no I'm not a sales rep) and I think a road trip is definately in my future. I find myself asking WWFD (what would Fonzie do?):D Thanks for the links though HeyNow^

50's theme is neat! :)
you can google a few things to find 50's related items.
I recomend a google of:
retro planet
retro popcorn tubs
vintage signs
50's decor
vintage vending

those results should be accessories for your retro theme :)
