Hi this is my first post.
My grandmother has been having problems hearing the TV so yesterday we bought a Bose Companion 3 series II sound system. Along with the system we purchased a Dynea Mini to RCA stereo audio cable (Y-Cable).
When we got home I found that the headphone cable that connects to the Y-cable and into the subwoofer/receiver wasn't long enough, but i hooked up the system anyway to test it out. It sounded great. Today we went and bought a Recoton 25 ft. headphone extension/adapter kit.
However as soon as I hooked up the headphone extension the right speaker lost a lot of sound and depth although sound was still being produced it was so low that I needed to unplug the left speaker or put the right speaker right up to my ear in order to distinguish it. I thought at first that maybe it was the speaker so I switched them but to no avail.
I took off the headphone extension and the sound was back to normal. I'm not sure if this means that the extension itself is faulty, if the Y-cable isn't compatible with the headphone extension or, if the system isn't compatible with headphone extension cables. I hope that this question hasn't been asked already and I'm sorry if I was too verbose. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
