They're showing the women's tournament, and they've got the 4:3 of the game shifted all the way to the left, and they have a scoreboard, running on the right and then there is room left over on the right with a graphical background.
I don't like it, I'm used to looking at the middle of the screen and it just seems out of whack.

It does look strange. I'm not sure that I like it either.

It takes up ~26% of the screen (not counting the BottomLine), virtually the same space that the regular ESPNHD pillarbars take up.
However, I don't like it either. I wonder how many people don't have their TV's set to 1:1 pixel ratio and how much action they're missing.

Looks like just another excuse to put more useless crap on the screen. As the screens get bigger and wider, they're gonna find new ways to fill it.

Maybe they're reading this thread, they switched back to the normal look.
