I have a sony KDL-40V4150 tv, and a samsung HL61A750 dlp tv. for SD dvds, i am using jvc xv-n670 upconversion players, and they suck. picture gets stretched. which would be a better dvd player for both of my tvs, so i can get rid of these cheapo jvc ones?

I'd recommend an OPPO.

That is true of Faroudja chip players, of which the 981 is an example.

The Oppo 980 would not have that problem, and it's cheaper.
