Well, my dedicated home theater is almost done. Just painting and carpet left. I have the receiver, speakers, and projector done, but I can not pick out a sub.

The room is in a basement, is about 16x22 with a concrete floor that will be carpeted. The concrete is poured in 3 tiers with about a 6 inch rise every 8 feet. The ceilings are 9 feet up front and 8 at the back. It will be used 99% for movies and gaming.

The ceiling and walls are drywall.

I have it wired for 2 subs up front if necessary.

So my questions are:

1 - 2 subs or one (the receiver is a Harman Kardon AVR247) - it is 7.1, but I can run a second sub from the first if I need to, correct?

2 - What size? 10, 12, or 15?

3 - down firing or front?

My budget is limited to $200-300.

I saw some good online reviews for the Sony SA Wxxxx.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Cadence csx-12 is an option. I've never heard it but it seems to get good reviews by forum members. At 299 it's at the top of your price range but they do sell on ebay and I know there is a way to get cashback cupons for ebay purchases
